Sailor Moon, based on the original manga by Naoko Takeuchi and released initially in 1991, endures in popularity today, over three decades later. A testament to the franchise's consistent reputation and long-lasting fanbase, Jimmy Choo just released a Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon themed collection of accessories on October 9th, 2024. This was not Sailor Moon's first collaboration with the company; a similar collection in 2023 celebrated the series' 30th anniversary.

Jimmy Choo's 2023 Sailor Moon collection was such an immense success that the brand eagerly agreed to a second collection only a year later, and hopefully a third will debut someday. The 2023 collection also sold out very rapidly, so it is no surprise that the new drop was snatched up quickly by fans. Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo's creative director, commented on why she believes these Sailor Moon collections are so popular and anticipated, and what sets Sailor Moon apart from hundreds of other manga series: "femininity, a strength found through unity, the belief that you can protect the good."
